For some time now Laura and I have been sponsoring a child through Compassion Canada, a little girl from Thailand named Noi. Both of us have been blessed by her pictures and letters, and hopefully blessed her in return with ours. Recently I have had the feeling though that I would like to do more, I have always felt a tugging towards mission oriented work in some capacity but with school and everything that is going on never felt like I was able. Every once in a while we would get a mailing from Compassion with the regular updates about a program they had called the Child Advocacy Network and after some thought and some prayer decided that I would see what was involved and if I would have the time to join. As it turns out the time commitment was whatever I had time for and given our schedule that is my kind of ministry, so as of this week I have become an official, since I can say we were unofficial before this, Advocate for Children. That being said I would love to see you all pray about sponsoring children and if you have any questions please feel free to discuss them with me or with Compassion Canada.

Interesting, I'm apart of Compassion and have a boy/young man(15) in Thailand, by the name of Hudsadee. I'm terrible at returning letters, but I've never had a negative letter saying "pick up the letter returning JERK!" so he must be living with slow return Diesel.
How do you as a couple deal with the letters and their responses? do you both respond or do you trade off each letter?
Usually Laura writes the letters with some input from me... she is a better letter writer, although I don't know if you were aware of this diesel but Compassion has an option to write your child a letter from their website so that you don't even have to pick up a pencil... I do that from time to time... just leave little encouraging notes.
