So I am really looking forward getting into the garden, and with the warming weather the itch is getting stronger. I ordered some seeds so that I can get started early this year from the seed savers exchange, an organization that propagates and sells heirloom varieties of seed so that they can survive future generations. Incidentally they also sent a large collection of seeds to the new seed vault that opened earlier this year on Svalbard, a cluster of islands north of Norway.
Some of the varieties I ordered were...
- Cilantro
- Borage
- Chioggia Beet
- Dragon Carrot
- Bloody Butcher Corn
- Blue Jade Corn
- Strawberry Popping Corn
- Thai Basil
- Hyssop

Man, what's with all the blood-red veggies? Making a horror-film inspired salad?
